We set some goals at the beginning of the year. We also try to change some old bad habits. We try to change our lifestyle. But we should not only think about eating habits or fitness. We need to think about our skin too. Here is a list of beauty rules I strictly follow, these are beauty resolutions I had listed in the beginning of the year and strictly follow to maintain the glow on my skin.

Use a sunscreen for 365 days
.
Sunscreen is a must. Sometimes we don’t put sunscreen on rainy days or in the cold weather. But you need to keep in mind that on these days too, the sun rays do the same damage to the skin. So, just as you wake up and brush your teeth, apply sunscreen before you get out of your house. Carry it in the bag if necessary. You need to apply sunscreen every 3 to 4 hours if you stay outdoors for a longer time.

Drop the old or expired products.

Sit down with your cosmetics or makeup collection. Drop the products that have passed the expiry date. We buy a lot of products in order to make ourselves look good and due to our hectic lifestyle tend to forget most of the products. They lie in the corner of our drawers. I don’t even remember many products. You need to keep in mind that all products come with an expiry date and can be harmful to our skin if used beyond the expiry date. Remove some unnecessary products from the dressing table. Sometimes we buy products but don’t use it due to some reason or the other for example you don’t like the lipstick shade or the blush is too loud. You can donate such product if you want to.

Sleep without makeup

No matter how much we read this in the press or the internet, we can’t ignore it. Don’t sleep with makeup. Make sure you follow this rule without fail. The dust and makeup on your face will only do damage to your skin making you older than your age. Make-up brushes to be cleaned regularly

The makeup accessory we mostly ignore is the makeup brush. They need to be cleaned regularly. At least two to three times a week. The chances of bacteria in the brush are high. It can also cause allergy to skin. Sometimes, even after regular cleaning, toning, moisturizing, there is a small rash or a problem on the face, this could be caused by an unclean brush. So invest in a good brand of makeup brush-rinsing solutions. You can also make it at home with a mild shampoo, cucumber water and light hot water.

Use minimal makeup

Some women claim to not use makeup at all, but the truth is that almost every woman uses cosmetic products. Some use more, others less. You may only need a light spiral to achieve a shining look like the stars on the screen. Or just a proper lipstick? Though makeup cannot be completely avoided by most of us women it is important to buy the right and genuine products for your skin type. Needless to say, you will feel better with a little makeup, you will look even more feminine and self-confident.

Hair Care

Sometimes we don’t take care of our hair enough. Regular oiling of your hair and scalp promotes hair growth and soften your hair. Oils which can be used are coconut oil, Amla oil, rosemary oil and castor oil. The best method is to keep it overnight and wash off in the morning. Deep conditioning and hair masks should also be done once in 15 days. Regular hair spa is also beneficial. Avoid using hairdryers or styling products on your hair. Apply a heat protector before using the styling products in your hair. Using silk pillow will greatly reduce hair loss and roughness. Trim your hair once in a while.

Foot Care

So, what can you do to look and feel good with sandals or without them? Spend half an hour, one or two times a week, on your feet and you’ll notice stunning results. Honestly! For this you will need only a few products for special care, a little desire and, of course, tranquillity. Cut out the nails in your desired shape and length. Apply foot exfoliant and with gentle motions massage the feet. Wash and Rub the feet with a deep moisturizing cream, not forgetting the heels and cuticles. Usually, they are the ones who have the greatest need of it! 🙂

Drink lots of water
.
Without water, the skin is dull, fading, dry, wrinkly and there is no colour. 8 glasses of water a day are much more important than all the cosmetic wonders in which you invest. Drinking water can cleanse your skin and people who start to drink more water report a visibly healthier glow to the skin afterwards. This will not happen overnight, of course, but only for a week if you increase your water intake and drink enough of it, you will have a pretty good effect on your skin.

Get Enough Sleep

Modern science has confirmed that solid and peaceful sleep is a really essential source of beauty, because every cell in our body – including skin cells – uses this time for recovery and regeneration. If you sleep less than six hours, it’ll probably affect your appearance. You know that one night you get a good night’s sleep the next day, you look not only more rested, but healthier and more vital. Scientists claim that if we change our sleep regimen, go to bed before midnight and sleep for at least 7 to 9 hours, it will have a long-term positive effect on our physical appearance and quality of our skin.
